A FLAG IS DONATED TO THE ORIGINAL GROUP "KOVILJE"-VUKMANOVO

In the framework of supporting the preservation of tradition and culture and promoting cultural and artistic creativity in Municipality of Palilula, president of the municipality of Palilula Boban Džunić donated the flag of the original group, the gift of Municipality of Palilula, to Dragisa Todorovic, president of KUD "Kovilje" Vukmanovo, as an expression of gratitude for the outstanding results and cooperation with the organization of the local government of the City of Nis. Cultural Artistic Society "Kovilje" had a remarkable performance in this year's program, "Palilula Night 2013", within commemoration of the 1700s. years of the Edict of Milan, and the Day of the City of Nis, and also the successful visit to Bulgaria in Bobov Dol, within the international culture cooperation project in the border region, of Serbia and Bulgaria, as a representative of the municipality of Palilula.
The Group was founded in 1977. for the requirements of the "village meetings", when the village Vukmanovo formed the original group "Vukmanovo." Debut participation was crowned in first place within the competition in the municipality of Nis, and then choosing to participate at the Republican festival of folk art in Zupa Aleksandrovac, in 1978. That was the beginning. Soon, the company Vukmanovo from the village to the north-eastern slopes of Mount Selicevica, was named "Kovilje" in Palilula. Performing “oro” games, traditional songs and music, rituals, and customs, as our ancestors did, from the thirteenth century, all original, authentic and without a hint of stylization, they became very popular in our country, and also abroad. Music is performed on old and already forgotten musical instruments such as goch, bagpipes, flute and ocarina, and played in the original traditional costumes of what can now be seen only in museums. “KOVILJE" filmed countless contributions to the cultural and educational programs, primarily on national television, radio and other media, and so spun out of oblivion the life and customs of our ancestors. “KOVILJE" has performed at numerous festivals in the country and abroad (Romania, Bulgaria , Macedonia, Croatia), and all of the group 's repertoire marks and awards to the authenticity of the program and the costumes. They are the champions within rural festivals, regarding the preservation of tradition and culture of Serbia, and multiple winners of the many Balkan festivals of folk creativity. Many years of work and the results achieved has exercised the right that the cultural and artistic society "Kovilje" becomes a member of the International Association "Folk paneer", located in Sofia, as the sole legitimate representative of Serbia for complete authenticity. .
